Katella Deli - Bakery - Restaurant



Katella Delicatessen-Restaurant-Bakery, Inc. located in Orange County in the city of Los Alamitos. We are looking for a talented, passion-driven Dishwasher to add to our team!  We have a full service restaurant, bar and lunch counter. We also feature an award-winning Bakery, Deli, and Food To Go.

We are looking for a Dishwasher that is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc. using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.


Job Duties:

• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to the cook痴 line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dished before delivering.
• Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
• Wash pots, plans, and trays by hand.
• Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
• Set-up or break down dishwashing area.
• Clean and roll/unroll mats.
• Fill/empty soaks tubs with cleaning /sanitizing solutions.
• Sweep/mop floors.
• Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
• Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
• Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
• General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
• Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
• Must notify Manager anytime dish machine was or rise cycle falls below safety standard temperature.
• Never touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
• Other duties as directed.

Physical Requirements & Qualifications:

Previous restaurant experience is preferred.
•Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers.
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
• Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
• Be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift.
• Walks and stands during entire shift.
• Life and carry rack or stacks of dishes, glassware or other utensil, weighing up to 30 lbs., up to 50 times per shift.
• Lift and empty trashcans weighing up to 150 lbs., with assistance, up to two times per shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and lifting.
• Continuous use of hands and arms, along with bending, reaching, twisting.
• Knowledgeable in safe food handling and sanitation, along with safety cooking procedures.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• California Food Handler Card is required for all foodservice employees who prepare, store, serve food.
Hours: Wednesday – Sunday (Evening shift) must be able to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, as needed.
